Contemporary fiction with romance undertones.
Love, ambition, and the quest for identity collide in Boston as Alex Parker, a disabled sports writer, his brother Wyatt, and Nora, a woman haunted by her past, each strive to overcome personal barriers and societal expectations.
Alex is an ambitious sports writer who navigates the soulless pit of app dating despite letdowns, mentors apprehensive troubled teens, and upheaves his life by allowing his semi-estranged brother Wyatt to crash on his couch indefinitely. Oh yeah, and he does all that while using a wheelchair to get around. Alex wears a mask of bravado, but every time he’s reminded of his former track and field star self, he faces a torrent of emotions.
A chance encounter with Nora, an attractive coworker, at an office party sparks an unexpected connection, disrupting his routine. Nora, having cut off her toxic family twelve years prior, avoids intimacy and treats relationships like milk with an expiration date. Their budding relationship is fraught with personal insecurities and past traumas. Stuck in a stalemate, they both realize that to move forward, they first have to accept their past. And that is even scarier than falling in love.
"Fear of Flying" is set against the vibrant backdrop of Boston, which, with its centuries of history and picturesque autumn, becomes a character of its own.

Throughout the novel, there are people admitting to their vulnerabilities, facing up to them, and navigating their way through relationships with this and their significant other's 'baggage' in tow. It's all very identifiable and thought provoking as a reader."

"Cinematic writing that takes the reader into the deep reveal and back, resetting the norm with some degree of significant change. Real people, real actions."
